The software was designed to enable users with little or no experience to create engaging, animated and professional looking videos in as little as 20 minutes.

To use Powtoon, you have to register with your first name and email address or simply with your Google, Facebook or Linkedin account. Once you have created your account, you can start creating your videos. For inexperienced users, there are tutorial videos available via the “Get Help” button on your personalized start page.

Powtoon offers a gallery with a variety of ready-made templates that can also be edited. However, users can also create a video from scratch. It is also possible to record a voice-over for each video.

Powtoon videos can be used in many different ways in a language class. Depending on the content and structure of the video, it can be used to improve all language skills from reading and listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary extension to writing and speaking skills.
